Faster internet connection pushed

John Paul V. Pepito

BACOLOD City Councilor Cindy Rojas urged internet service providers to provide fast and reliable internet connections in the city.

Rojas said that Bacolod, being a top model city, needs reliable and fast internet service.

Internet service providers should prioritize Bacolod in its Long Term Evolution (LTE) roll-out program, she added.

LTE is a technology that allows a device to process high-speed data and content.

Rojas said that in areas like Metro Cebu, network modernization programs are already in full swing and show impressive LTE and 3G speeds.

She cited that the 1987 Philippine Constitution expressly provides that "the state shall provide the policy environment for the full development of Filipino capability and the emergence of communication structures suitable to the needs and aspirations of the nation and the balanced flow of information into, out of, across the country, in accordance with a policy that respects the freedom of speech and of the press."

“Bacolod is a venue to a number of national and international events and this means that better communication services shall be made available,” Rojas added.
