A 22-YEAR-OLD Filipino-American is facing drug charges in court after she was arrested for possession of shabu and drug paraphernalia inside her room last Oct.9.

Prosecutor Mario Ley Gidayawan found evidence to charge Ashley Clemente-Yap with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act, before the Regional Trial Court.

Yap was arrested by Parian police station operatives based on a tip from concerned citizens that she and her husband were reportedly having a “pot session” inside their pension room on Pelaez St. in Barangay San Antonio, Cebu City early morning of Oct. 9.

A P200,000 is set for Yap’s temporary freedom.

After verifying the information, authorities proceeded to the area and checked the room of the accused.

The husband of the accused was not in the house when the police stormed their room.

The police then checked Yap’s room and found the nine sachets of shabu and several drug paraphernalia. (GMD)
