Food festival to showcase authentic Ilonggo cuisine

A FOOD festival that would showcase authentic Ilonggo cuisine will unfold on January 21 to 25 this year as part of the four-day Dinagyang Food Festival along Delgado-Iznart streets here.

Iloilo Hotels, Restaurants and Resorts Association (IHRRA) President Happy Abenir said the festival will showcase the truly Ilonggo dishes and delicacies, including food specialties of different restaurants and hotels in this city, to satisfy the palate of Ilonggos and their guests.

Abenir said that 28 IHRRA members based in the city will participate in the event.

Featured dishes are: "inasal" or barbecue of chicken, pork, cat fish or "pantat", bachoy, "sinugba nga isda, talaba and diwal, other Ilonggo dishes with European, American and Chinese influence, and best local delicacies, all these at an affordable price.

There will also be a live concert by a Metro Manila-based band and a raffle draw for both customers and patrons every night.
