DESPITE the martial law in Mindanao, foreign investors have expressed interest in setting up shop at the Anflo Industrial Estate (AEIC), Damosa Land Inc. (DLI)'s industrial park in Panabo City.

During a press briefing on Tuesday at Damosa Seawind, Ricardo F. Lagdameo, DLI vice president, said most of the investors are mainly into food processing though they have also received those from other industries like automotive.

"By the last quarter of last year, we saw a lot of foreign visitors like Japanese, Chinese, all different kind of nationalities," he said.

Lagdameo said on Wednesday, they had Korean investor who visited the industrial park.

He said the kind of businesses these potential investors are into varies from one another.

"Aside from food manufacturing, we have also seen businesses that are into automotives," Lagdameo said.

Meanwhile, he said currently they already have locators, mostly are manufacturing firms, in the industrial park.

One of the locators is a Filipino-Dutch plastic manufacturer, PhilDutch Polymer.

"They had their inaugural shipment out of the industrial park this month. They are going into full scale production already. What they reported is they are going to ship 40 to 50 containers per month," Lagdameo said.

Another locator in the industrial estate is a food processing company that will start exporting their products by April or May of this year.

"The 63-hectare self-sustaining ecozone, is at the moment on its phase 1 development and can now accommodate potential clients on site, too, with its newly established administrative office in the area," DLI said in a statement.
