Foreman shot dead in Murcia

A FOREMAN was gunned down by two unidentified men on a motorcycle at Barangay Damsite, Murcia, Negros Occidental Tuesday morning, November 14.

Senior Inspector Ronald Santillan, town police chief, identified the fatality as Efraem Talaban, 52, who worked as a foreman at the National Irrigation Administration.

Investigation showed that Talaban was resting on a bench in front of their sari-sari store around 10 a.m. when the assailants arrived.

The rider fired at him while the driver served as lookout.

Talaban was able to run, but he fell to the ground.

The perpetrators escaped.

The victim was rushed to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, where he died a few hours later.

Police recovered from the scene three fired cartridges of .40 caliber.
