Geo-tagging agreement in Davao passes on 1st reading

A MEMORANDUM of agreement (MOA) for the implementation of P40 million-worth of geo-tagging of households in Davao City passed on first reading of City Council last week.

The MOA will be signed by Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, the Community Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Network Team, Department of Interior and Local Government-Davao Region and Bureau of Local Government and Development.

The CBMS Network team is a research group that developed the CBMS methodology, instruments training modules for data collection, processing, poverty mapping and use of data for local planning and budgeting.

Among the expected outputs of the MOA is the conduct of training workshop of CBMS data collection and processing for key personnel of the city and barangay levels.

The CBMS data will be utilized for local planning and design for local government programs, preparation of city and barangay socio-economic and physical profiles and development plan, identification of needs, problems and appropriate responses and project program impact monitoring and evaluation.
