TWO militant congressmen will file a disqualification case at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Manila against a son of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo who is seeking a seat in Congress through the party list system.

Bayan Muna Representative Teodoro Casiño said Thursday that Reps. Satur Ocampo and Liza Masa will jointly file the complaint against Pampanga Rep. Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo at 3 p.m. on Thursday. Teodoro and his two colleagues are also running for Senate seats.

The President’s eldest son, Mikey, is seeking re-election through Ang Galing ng Pinoy party-list, a group representing the sector of security guards.

The young Arroyo, he said, has lots of security guard but he cannot represent the sector. Teodoro added he never heard of Rep. Arroyo advocate for the cause of the sector he was trying to represent in the House of Representatives.

Mikey Arroyo gave way to his mother, whose term in Malacañang ends on June 30, who is running for congresswoman in the second district of Pampanga.

Teodoro said the President is building a strong bloc in Congress to support her moves if he ever he wins in the May 10 elections.

Other Arroyos seeking House seats are Maria Lourdes Arroyo, a sister of First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo; presidential Rep. Diosdado “Dato” Macapagal Arroyo (1st district, Camarines Sur); and Mr. Arroyo’s brother Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo (5th district, Negros Occidental).

Casiño said Bayan Muna was looking at expanding its complaint after the release of the final list of party-list groups and nominees.
