A WOMAN was shot dead by her security guard inside her residence at Sitio Kimura, Barangay San Miguel, Samal District, Island Garden City of Samal on Saturday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Margie dela Cruz, 23, a resident of Barangay San Miguel, while the suspect is identified as Renante Florentino, 30, a security guard of RG Security and Protective Agency.
Based on reports from the Davao del Norte Police Provincial Office, the suspect shot the victim in the head with a 12-gauge shotgun around 4 p.m. inside a hut at the victim's residence.
The suspect fled after the incident but later surrendered to police. He is presently detained awaiting formal charges before the court.
Florentino said dela Cruz threatened to fire him.
Dela Cruz is the wife of a Swiss national Diether Desch, who owns a business in the area.
