Gunman kills worker undertaking government project

A WORKER of a construction firm undertaking a government project was killed while his companion was unscathed in a gun attack in Zamboanga del Norte, the police reported Monday, February 6.

The Zamboanga del Norte Police Office said the incident occurred around 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the village of Panabutan, Sirawai town.

The police identified the victim as Jehmar Muloc, 32, a resident of the village of Macuyon, Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte.

Investigation showed Muloc was with a companion working on the road project when a lone unidentified gunman appeared and shot the victim.

The police said the victim failed to reach the hospital alive when rushed to the Sirawai Rural Health Unit for treatment.

Recovered at the crime scene were two empty shells of caliber .45 pistol while the suspect is still at large, the police said. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
