Guv orders police to pursue kidnappers

John Dave N. Casas

ZAMBOANGA del Norte Governor Rolando Yebes has ordered the police and the military forces to pursue the kidnappers of a teenager from Liloy town in his province.

Yebes issued the order after he met Donald John Capili, 19, who was released by the kidnappers in the hinterlands of Basilan province, south of this city.

Capili, who was kidnapped in August 27 of last year, was freed around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the village of Baiwas, Sumisip, Basilan.

He was brought home Wednesday by his parents in Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte, where he was kidnapped.

Authorities in Zamboanga del Norte said that Capili was seized by members of the lawless group based in the so-called triple "SB" area of the province.

The triple "SB" area covers the town of Sibuco, Sirawai, Siocon and Baliguian.

Yebes, as well as the police authorities, learned from Capili that he was held captive for more than two months in the triple "SB" area.

Capili was later transferred to the custody of the Basilan-based kidnappers where he was held captive until his release last Tuesday.
