In La Trinidad, shift to e-data storage, management gains ground

Sunnexdesk

A PROPOSAL for the La Trinidad municipal government to shift to electronic data storage and records management has been introduced in the municipal council.

An electronic data storage-access system will improve records tracking and keeping, and better protect the security of documents, Councilor Roderick Awingan, the proposed ordinance’s proponent, said.

Awingan’s measure has been forwarded to the Benguet provincial board for review.

The digitization of records will help in preserving the enormous enacted measures which pile up and are compiled through time prone to wear and tear, he said. Electronic filing will also prevent loss of documents.

Apart from computerizing records, it will provide an internet-based public information system.

The proposed ordinance will ultimately pave the way for a paper-less session using current technological devices or facilities, Awingan said. (Susan C. Aro)
