Sunnexdesk

AN INTENSITY 2 earthquake rocked Cagayan de Oro Friday at around 4:00 p.m., an official of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

Marshall Labinay, Phivolcs officer-in-charge in Northern Mindanao, said the earthquake lasted for about 12 seconds.

He said General Santos and Koronadal City in South Cotabato also experienced the same intensity level while Mati in Davao, Tagum, Caraga, Davao del Norte, and Surigao experienced Intensity 3.

Labinay said the earthquake was not identified directly by Philvolcs due to lack of facilities and the absence of disaster information center in the city.

He said the earthquake is not something to be alarmed of since the local fault was found in Mati. (Nicole J. Managbanag)
