I.Protect: Intellectual Property Management

A COMMON experience by some business owners in the Philippines is the realization that the innovative concept or idea they introduced should have been protected when others start to copy and use their innovative concept or idea.

When this happens, it is usually too late to protect the innovative concept or idea, if the same qualifies as an intellectual property. What the business owner does after this experience is very essential. One of the prudent steps he should take is to seek help in the management of his intellectual properties. Intellectual Property Management (IPM) is a broad concept in the study of intellectual property rights.

It essentially differs from one industry to another, but what IPM essentially does is help the business owner identify intellectual properties worthy of protection because of their high possibility of commercialization, as well as develop a culture in the business that would allow development of further intellectual properties.
