Kyocera makes finals of Inter IT Park challenge

KYOCERA Frontiers booked a slot in the finals of the Inter-IT Park Basketball Challenge after beating TSB Devils last weekend at the Central Command Camp Lapu-Lapu basketball gym in Lahug.

Kyocera swept TSB in the best-of-three semi-finals series after taking Game 2, 63-50. Winston Panal and Ariel Edera spearheaded Kyocera’s offense with 22 and 16 points, respectively.

Vince Ranile led TSB with a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

In the other semifinal, the CAE Titans tied the series at 1-1 after a defeating Dash Engineering, 115-109.

Jayguard Vios and former University of San Carlos Warrior Sam Hermosa more than made up for the Game 1 default loss with monstrous performances. Vios hit 34 markers and added 10 boards, while Hermosa scored 31 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and swatted six shots.

Rex Tuazon exploded for 60 points in a losing effort by Dash Engineering.

Game 3 of the semifinals between CAE and Dash Engineering will be on June 27. The winner advances to the finals and faces off with Kyocera for the inaugural crown.
