La Trinidad rules provincial sports meet

LA TRINIDAD successfully defended its overall title in this year’s Benguet Provincial Sports Meet held at the Benguet Sports Center.

The capital town hauled in 136 gold, 95 silver, and 82 bronze medals to clinch the championship.

Its elementary athletes won 13 golds in athletics, 13 in swimming, six in taekwondo, three in chess, and one in softball.

The high school team dominated swimming with 21 golds, archery with 15, taekwondo with 13, wrestling with 8, wushu with six, athletics with six and chess with two.

La Trinidad surpassed last year’s medal harvest 134 golds, 74 silvers and 73 bronzes.

Tuba finished second, Itogon third and Mankayan fourth.

Buguias finish fifth followed by Benguet State University, Tublay, Kapangan, Bokod, Atok, Kibungan, Sablan and Bakun.
