MISAMIS Oriental Provincial Board Member Jabi Bernaldez passed Monday a resolution urging all municipalities and two component cities of the province to establish a persons with disability (PWDs) affairs office in their respective locality.

The resolution was supported by Board Member Jesus Jardin and approved by the Provincial Board.

Bernaldez said this is in compliance with Republic Act 7277 as amended by Republic Act 10070, or an act establishing an institutional mechanism to ensure the implementation of programs and services for PWDs in every province, city and municipality.

Bernaldez, who is currently the chair of the Provincial Board's committee on social services, said the affairs office must be established to ensure effective implementation of all services related to PWDs. (Annabelle L. Ricalde)
