CEBU Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale will serve as acting governor for the next two weeks.

Cebu Gov. Hilario Davide III went on a leave of absence to go on vacation with his family in Israel and Jordan starting yesterday.

Davide will resume his duties on July 30.

With Magpale as acting governor, PB Member Jerome Librando, who serves as pro-tempore officer of the Cebu Provincial Board, will serve as acting vice governor. The Local Government Code of 1991 states that if the governor cannot perform his duties for physical or legal reasons, the vice governor shall automatically take over.
