MANILA -- Malaysia will still be the third-country facilitator as the peace talks between the government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) resumes sometime this September.

Presidential Edwin Lacierda on Tuesday confirmed Malaysia will continue facilitate the negotiation amid indications that Indonesia will be tapped for the sensitive task.

“What we have for now and what we have been informed is that Malaysia is still the third party negotiator,” said Lacierda.

He said the peace talks might resume as scheduled, which is after Ramadan.

In an ambush interview with President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, he said he somehow agreed not to change the third party facilitator noting advice from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace Process, saying that changes on third party “might delay the whole process”. (Jill Beltran/Sunnex)
