A MAN died while his wife was injured after they were hacked by a laborer at Purok Cabansan, Barangay Orong in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, July 26.

The fatality was identified as Junior Gador Emproso, 40, who was attacked with his wife, Vivian, 40, in front of a sari-sari store.

Kabankalan City Police Station chief Rhea Santos said the suspect Jophil Sorreno, 30, refused to let a male customer buy cigarette.

Emproso intervened, causing a heated argument between him and Sorreno.

Emproso then challenged Sorreno to a fight. Sorreno hacked him. Both were reportedly drunk.
