Man kills kin over simple argument

A 50-YEAR-OLD man was shot and killed by his younger brother in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Tuesday.

The police meanwhile have launched a manhunt to arrest the suspect who went into hiding after the incident.

The Zamboanga Peninsula Police Office (ZPPO) reported that the incident took place around 7 p.m. Sunday in the village of Lower Tungawan in the town of Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The ZPPO identified the victim as Reynaldo Lubaton, 50. The suspect was identified as Felizardo, 42, the younger brother of the victim.

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident Reynaldo was having a drinking spree together with a friend in Purok Sais, Lower Tungawan village.

Minutes later, a heated argument ensued between the two brothers when Felizardo arrived and even threatened to kill his elder brother.

The ZPPO said the suspect went home and returned, this time shooting the victim three times in the head with a handgun.

Appropriate charges were filed against the suspect who is still at large, the ZPPO said.(Bong Garcia)
