BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia has appointed Dr. Jonathan Lobaton as one of his executive assistants, said Rodel Parcon Monday.

The mayor’s secretary presented Lobaton to the members of the media on Monday.

Lobaton expressed his happiness that the city mayor has hired him to be among his executive assistants.

"It's been my long-time dream to help Bacolod City, as I have stayed here for almost 31 years now," he said.

Lobaton added that he also sought the permission of Kabankalan Mayor Isidro P. Zayco, his former boss, before accepting the appointment to work for the city.

Lobaton was the former senior executive assistant of Zayco. He was also chief of staff during Zayco’s stint as governor; executive assistant when Zayco was vice governor; part time Social Sciences senior instructor at West Negros University; broadcaster; and special assistant for media and political affairs to former Secretary Apolinario Lozada.

Lobaton holds a doctorate degree in Public Administration from West Negros University. (Carla N. Cañet)
