BACOLOD City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia has chosen Dr. Rogelio Balo over former City Councilor Greg Gasataya to sit as the City Administrator.
Earlier reports have it that this position was already committed to Gasataya.
Gasataya served as the campaign manager of Grupo Progresso, the political party of Leonardia and the Voltes 5, consisting of Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson, Councilors Homer Bais, Al Victor Espino, Dindo Ramos, and former City Councilors Gasataya and Alex Paglumotan.
Gasataya gave way to the decision of the City’s chief executive of choosing Balo for the position.
Leonardia has already transmitted the appointment papers of Balo to the members of the City Council for their concurrence. The City Council will tackle Wednesday the appointment of Balo.
Balo was the one who conducted the presentation for the City Government of Bacolod when it was among the nominees for the Most Business Friendly City competition in the national level. Bacolod bagged that award.
He was also the lead coordinator of the flyover projects for Bacolod City since September 2004. (Carla N. Cañet)
