Mini hydro plant to rise in Benguet town

THE Benguet Electric Cooperative (Beneco) and the Buguias municipal government have signed an agreement with the chiefs and elders of five barangays in Buguias town to build a 3-megawatt mini hydroelectric plant on the Man-Asok River.

Part of the agreement calls for Beneco to provide computers to the schools in the municipality.

Beneco Board President Peter Busaing said the cooperative will also provide the municipality with closed-circuit television cameras to boost its crime prevention efforts, and two motorcycles for various uses. (JZ)
