THE 16-year-old fugitive, who escaped from the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail (MOPJ) around 4 a.m. last November 27, has been arrested by jail guards and policemen from of Opol, Misamis Oriental on Friday, December 2.

Chief Inspector Randy Anito, Opol Philippine National Police chief, said an informant tipped off the fugitive's whereabouts which resulted to the successful arrest at Zone 3, Barra, Opol.

Police said "Jun-jun" was under the influence of alcohol and starving when arrested by the authorities.

"Jun-jun" was placed under the MOPJ custody last April following carnapping charges.

He had been housed in an open room together with other minor detainees inside the MOPJ.

MOPJ overseer Leon Factura said over local radio station that they would request the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Northern Mindanao to secure custody of all minor inmates in their care.

Factura added the jail guards could not fully guard the minor prisoners since they were not put in the cells.

The investigation called by Governor Yevgeny Emano has yet to release a decision pertaining to the lapses committed during the prison break.
