John Elmer Ubado

APALIT -- The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is advising motorists going to Apalit town in Pampanga and Calumpit in Bulacan to take the Pulilan (Bulacan) exit of the North Luzon Expressway.

This, after the DPWH opened the newly repaired and strengthened Caniogan-Sto. Nino Bridge in Calumpit town aimed at easing traffic along MacArthur Highway in parts of Malolos City going to this Pampanga town.

The bridge was closed in 2016 for needed repairs. The estimated cost of refurbishing the bridge is P21-million.

With the re-opening of the bridge, traffic is also expected to ease up along the Malolos-Plaridel Road.
