THE National Police Commission (Napolcom) said Monday that it already submitted to President Rodrigo Duterte the result of its investigation on two police officials included in the President's narco-list.

Napolcom vice chairman Rogelio Casurao said their findings and decision on the case of the two out of three active police generals who were allegedly involved in illegal drugs is already on Duterte’s table.

"In no time, I think the Office of the President (OP) is going to make a formal announcement on this but I'm not privy to what it's going to be because we might be pre-empting the OP," he said.

Weeks after he took office in July, Duterte named former National Capital Region Police Office chief Director Joel Pagdilao, former Quezon City Police District head Chief Superintendent Edgardo Tinio, and Director Bernardo Diaz, all active police generals, as among the police officials involved in the illegal drug operations.

He also tagged retired Deputy Director General Marcelo Garbo and retired chief superintendent, now Daanbantayan, Cebu Mayor Vicente Loot as drug coddlers.

In August, the Napolcom, following the recommendation of the Department of Interior and Local Government, found probable cause to file administrative charges against the three active police officials. (SunStar Philippines)
