MANILA -- Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez on Wednesday clarified that the ransacking incident in the provincial building in Shariff Aguak was not intended for the Comelec office only.

“The Comelec office was not the target of the ransacking it just so happened that the Comelec office is inside the capitol as well,” said Jimenez.

Reports said that unidentified men ransacked the provincial building in Sharrif Aguak, Maguidanao during the holiday break and took with them some kitchen utensils.

But the poll body said that no Comelec records were taken by the thieves. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
