On stage, a sharing of culture

MADE possible by the Overseas Chinese Affairs office of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, “Cultures of China: Festival of Spring” was brought to Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino to showcase performances rich with the essence of Chinese culture.

Last March 6, hundreds of people from the Filipino and Chinese-Filipino community witnessed mesmerizing performances like dance numbers, operatic songs, traditional instrumental pieces and magic show—among many others.

Behind the whole production was a message that goes beyond what people would normally see as a colorful and glamorous variety show. Not only was it a demonstration of the performers’ artistry and skill but it was also one of the many ways for China to extend a hand of friendship by sharing their tradition, art and culture with Cebu.
