WINNERS of the just-held Milo Junior Tennis Cup-Mindanao Leg will be put to test anew in the Inter-Philippine Tennis Academy Tournament now underway at the Nazareth Lawn Tennis Club here.

The threesome of Matt Steve Palasan, Janelle Carmela Llavore and Gennifer Lysandra Pagente—all PTA-Oro Satellite-backed talents who triumphed in the Milo netfest—will try to defend turf in the three-day tourney.

Also set to put up a strong showing are the Lanao del Norte bets, including the country’s No. 1 unisex Under-10 (U10) campaigner Heinz Aslan Carbonilla, the streaking Brent Signmond Cortes, the Bandolis siblings and the Sonsona brothers.

“After sa Milo, they (Lanao netters) have decided to stay for a while in Cagayan de Oro para maka-compete sa PTA event. The format is more likely the same with the Milo tourney tag one entry lang gihapon,” ITF-licensed referee Mario Inguito Craiz told Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro.

Manila varsity-bound Jose Maria Joma Pague of Zamboanga Sibugay, U14 girls standout Sydney Ezra Enriquez of Salug, Zamboanga del Norte and the Gervacio sisters of Ozamiz City will also be competing.
