MANILA -- Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) said Tuesday that P3.2 million is needed for the cloud seeding operations to be conducted over Angat Dam to address the water shortage in Metro Manila.

The cloud seeding will be conducted Wednesday to induce rains, said MWSS acting chief Macra Cruz, stressing that they are still ironing out plans for the operations.

She said the MWSS is also coordinating with Maynilad, Manila Water, and their concessionaires for the conduct of the cloud seeding.

Radio reports said the MWSS will borrow airplanes from the Philippine Air Force, which earlier expressed willingness to help. (Sunnex)
