P496,000 aid for fire victims

THE Davao City Social Services and Development Office (CSSDO) is set to release next week the financial aid for affected families of the fire incident at Purok 6, Mabini Extension, Barangay 76-A Bucana, Davao City last April 17.

Maria Luz Farañal, CSSDO disaster focal person, said Thursday, April 20, they are set to distribute a total of P496,000 financial aid for the fire victims of Barangay 76 and 31-D.

Farañal said they are in the process of preparing documents for the distribution of the financial aid to the families.

Based on the CSSDO data, in Barangay 76-A, the fire last week left 38 destroyed houses, one damaged house, and affected 10 renters and 15 sharers.

There were also three destroyed houses and two damaged houses recorded in Barangay 31-D.

"Ginapaspasan na ang papeles, possibly next week Monday ma-release (We are fast-tracking the processing of papers, it can be possibly released Monday next week)," Farañal said.

She said they are extending community cooking to the affected families and distributed aid from NCCC Cares.
