MANILA -- Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao delivered his privilege speech as congressman of Sarangani, citing problems in his province and bearing the responsibility as its duly-elected representative.

Pacquiao said education, livelihood, and health would remain his top priorities as he jumpstarts his career as a lawmaker.

“These three are the most important, most crucial things to pursue,” the boxing champ said in front of more than 200 congressmen present in Tuesday's hearing.

Aside from this, he also wanted the country's athletes to clinch the first Filipino gold medal in the Olympics this 2012.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao vowed to do everything in his power to help the 476,514 people of his province. (Kathrina Alvarez/Sunnex)
