Pacquiao pays courtesy call to Arroyo (11:12 a.m.)

MANILA -- Filipino boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has paid his 16th courtesy call to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Malacañang.

After attending mass at Quiapo Church, Pacquiao’s proceeded to the Palace around 10:30 a.m. They were greeted by the President and First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo.

Pacquiao had a quick photo opportunity with the first couple together with their grandchildren.

The 31-year-old pound-for-pound king then faced several members of the media for a mini-press conference.

He said he is still undecided on whether to retire or not in boxing but he said that he is ready for his next battle in the political arena.

Pacquiao is seeking a congressional seat in Sarangani province.
