THE Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) came up with a model of a disaster-resilient building as part of the Provincial Government's disaster preparations.

PDRRMO Chief Baltazar Tribunalo said that the model house, which was set up in front of his office, is made up of blocks that can be assembled for one day.

“This answers how quick we can rebuild after a disaster,” said Tribunalo.

He said that the building could stand natural calamities, such as typhoon and earthquake, and it is temperature controllable.

The sample building, Tribunalo said, was inspired from the countries of Haiti, Pakistan and Indonesia, which were also hit by disasters. Jona Godinez, USJR Intern
