A SECURITY guard was killed while another guard and two foreigners were wounded when unidentified gunmen allegedly ambushed Wellington Lim, the brother of Peter Lim, near Cebu Business Park before dawn Saturday, March 24.

Police have yet to confirm Peter Lim's claim that his brother was the target of the attack, which happened outside Infinity KTV and Music Lounge along Archbishop Reyes Ave. in Barangay Kamputhaw, Cebu City.

Killed in the attack was security guard William Bocay. Another guard, George Lambatan, sustained gunshot wounds to his face and arm, but was able to rush inside the bar for cover.

Two German nationals were also wounded. One was hit on the thigh and the other on the arm.

Witnesses told authorities that the guards were guiding a black car that was pulling out of the bar's parking lot when the gunmen strafed the area. Bocay was killed on the spot.

Investigators recovered 13 M16 bullets from the scene.

Peter Lim is a Cebuano businessman who has been identified by President Rodrigo Duterte as a drug lord. Along with self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa and several others, Lim is facing drug charges before the Department of Justice. (with reports from Johanna O. Bajenting/SunStar Cebu)
