JAVE Mareck Peteros led the team of Cebu City players after topping the Boys U15 category of the one-day Cebu City Chess elimination tournament for the 2017 Batang Pinoy Visayas Elimination held last Monday at the Knight Attack Chess Cafe at the 3rd Level of Robinsons Galleria-Cebu.

Peteros scored a total of 6.5 points after the round robin tournament format, allowing a draw with Rejel Clyde Perandos while second place went to Kirk Patrick Morala who finished with 5.5 points.

Peteros defeated John Andrei Cadiz, Rolfred Lacanaria, Lawrence Anthony Paradela, Raniel Jay Perandos and Romeo Jared.

Marphine Mangubat topped the Girls side after scoring a perfect 4.0 points after the double round robin competition with Angel Naureen Bagano claiming the second slot after scoring 2.0 points.

Justine Joseph took the lone slot for the Boys U12 category and Kriseb Yosabel Marie Sanchez and Edelyn Vosotros took the slots for the Girls U12 category after sharing the top place with 5.0 points each.
