Tabuk, Kalinga- Philippine National Police Chief director general Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa wants to equip highland cops with better gear to avoid casualties during engagement.

Reeling from the death of four policemen in Lubuagan town, the police chief said they will study the need for an upgrade.

“Napag-isipan na yan pero masyadong mabigat na. But anyway, isama natin yan sa ating directory for research and development kung paano makapag improve ng equipment ng ating police,” Dela Rosa explained.

Dela Rosa was in Kalinga to pay respect to the fallen four and three others were wounded while serving a warrant of arrest for fugitive Willy Sagasag, top most wanted with a P600,000 bounty.

I am very proud of their son, husband, brother, I am very proud of my men,” he added.

The chief has appealed to the public to report to them if by chance they have information of whereabouts of rebels or criminals.
