Prices of produce in market stable

THE price of selected food supplies at Bangkerohan Public Market have stayed on their stable prices according to the market watch conducted by Sunstar Davao, Thursday, April 27.

Most of the prices of food supplies sold in the market remained stable. Onions remain at P100 per kilogram (kg); ginger at P100/kg; tomato at P50/kg; garlic at P200/kg; potato at P90/kg; red bell pepper at P100/kg; carrots at P90/kg; cucumber at P80/kg; and cabbage at P60/kg.

The prices of fruits also remain stable. Apples are at P10 to P35 per piece, depending on its size; orange at P10 to P30 per piece; pineapple at P30/kg; mango at P120/kg to P130/kg; watermelon at P25/kg to P28/kg; and avocado at P50/kg to 70/kg.

Meanwhile, the prices of seafood also remained stable. Shrimps are at P280/kg to 300/kg; big sized tilapia at P250/kg; small sized tilapia at P60/kg to P80/kg; hito (catfish) at P150/kg; pusit at P120/kg; salmon at P150 to P160/kg; and bangus at P120/kg.

The prices of meat are also stable this week. Pork ribs are at P160/kg to P185/kg; pork legs P130/kg to P150/kg; ground pork P185/kg to P190/kg; and pork belly at P195/kg to P200/kg. However, the price for whole chicken increases to 140/kg this week from 130/kg to P135/kg last week.

Eggs remain to be at P100 to P195 per tray, depending on its size, while salted eggs are at P12 each and P360/tray. ( Edlyn S. Tayco, NDDU intern)
