THE Presidential Security Group (PSG) member who served as security aide of Senator Leila de Lima has claimed that the former Justice secretary and her former driver had an affair.

In the third round of the House probe into drug proliferation at the New BIlibid Prison (NBP), Joenel Sanchez "confirmed" that De Lima had an affair with her former driver Ronnie Dayan.

The alleged affair between the two, according to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, will explain why Dayan was able to extract money from drug lords inside the penitentiary.

Sanchez said he assumed that the two were in a relationship when he learned that Dayan sleeps in the house of De Lima in Paranaque.

"Nakumpirma ko ang relasyon ng dalawa dahil si Dayan ay sa bahay ni de Lima natutulog," he said.

According to Sanchez, he also witnessed the intimate relationship of the two during their trips to different provinces like Bicol and Pangasinan. In those trips, Sanchez said, De Lima and Dayan shared one room.

"Sa mga out of towns na lakad namin, silang dalawa ay magkasama sa iisang kwarto," Sanchez said.

Sanchez also said that he was able to see two sex videos of De Lima and Dayan.

He added that Dayan was ousted from his post as driver and body guard of De Lima after a new security aide he identified as Warren Cristobal was detailed as new security officer of the then-Justice secretary.

According to Sanchez, Dayan's jealousy to the new security aide tarnished his affair with De Lima.

Sanchez served De Lima from July 2012 to May 2015. He was accused of being De Lima's bagman who received drug money from drug lords in the NBP. (Sunnex)
