TWELVE amateur mixed martial arts events are set to thrill fight fans as PXC Laban MMA returns to the Summer Capital at the Baguio Convention Center slated July 11.

The event will feature yet again Baguio and Benguet's rising fighters battling for the MMA big leagues.

Team Lakay's Stephen Loman is set to square off against Mike Bunag of Fist Gym in the main event while Manila based fighter Romnick Pabalate is reportedly being eyed to fight Danny Kingad who has yet to commit to the event.

Joshua Pacio of Lakay La Trinidad Gym will also make his return after his impressive performance during the February event and will face Jonnil Borbon of Fight Works MMA.

Jeremy Pacatiw of the University of the Cordilleras meanwhile takes on Gennil Francisco of Fight Works MMA as Joseph Pasiwat of Tribal Submission tangles with Alvin Velasco of Team Torogi-UC.

Delfin Nawen of Lakay La Trinidad will also see action against Joseph "Bato" Ortiz of USC while Mhel Clinton Remolar of Altitude Gym squares off with Jovan Galarosa of Fist Gym Manila.

Also in the fight card is Rizalino Olivar Jr. of Lakay La Trinidad Gym taking on Erik Raymundo from the Contender Gym as Sylvester Banguingui of Fight Corps MMA challenges Jaybee Ban-eg of Universal Gym.

Taro Barrientos of Lakay San Fernando takes on Aaron Caguay of Kafagway MMA and Jomar Pa-ac of University of the Cordilleras fights Roy Menzi of Kafagway MMA in the undercard while Biondi Dayangdang of Max fusion tackles Frangklin Donglay of Team Torogi-UC as curtain raisers.

The exciting tentative matches for the July tiff is a follow up of PXC’s event, which yielded good result during the annual celebration of the Baguio Flower Festival.

The competition will use semi-professional rules, with fighters disallowed to use elbows to the face to avoid cuts; and thicker gloves.

The fights are also shorter: three three-minute rounds, unlike regular PXC events, which feature five three-minute rounds. (Jair Ampaguey, Trinity College Intern)
