Remembering

Sunnexdesk

I WAS still in high school then and my parents were still trying to look for the best school for me, whe they gave University of Immaculate Conception a try.

I passed the exam but was denied entry for a confidential reason. I thought that was the end of it, but weeks later, I was summoned after being told that there is a chance that I will be accepted after all. I went as summoned and bumped into Mother Assumpta David, herself. She looked happy to see me. I was interviewed and Mother allowed me to enroll, saying that she trusts me to finish my high school despite my troubled state at that time.

Despite the rough start, I managed to improve my grades and also gained friends. It was there when I had my first barkada.

Thanks to Mother, I regained hold of my life. Now in college and still in UIC, I still make mistakes, but Mother Assumpta and the RVM sisters would always manage to set me right and stay the course, back to the right road.

My family and I mourn her passing, but likewise rejoice because she is now in an eternal feast with Jesus and his saints.

Mother Assumpta David, RVM, we will miss you. (Jeffrey Dalumpines, UIC-Information Technology Education (ITE) student)
