Revilla vows support to Mabalacat cityhood bid

MABALACAT – Reelectionist Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. (Lakas-Kampi-CMD) has vowed to support the conversion of this municipality into a component city.

This, after Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales said that the first-class town earned around P144 million last year, which is more than the P100 million being required by law for a town to become a component city.

Morales accompanied Revilla Tuesday and senatorial candidate Ramon Guico in their motorcade from Mabalacat town to the City of San Fernando.

The local government’s top priority for this year would be the conversion of the municipality into a component city, the mayor said.

“The tremendous increase in its current income and revenues realized locally, which have translated into a continuous socio-economic and infrastructure development, growth, progress and stability will allow the town to become a component city,” Morales said.

The attainment of cityhood status will bring in more revenue shares that would translate into more development in Mabalacat town.

“With the support of Revilla, we are optimistic that Mabalacat town will soon become a component city,” the mayor said.
