Salisi gang member nabbed

CAMP OLIVAS -- A suspected member of the so-called “Salisi Gang” was arrested in a follow-up operation in Barangay Luakan, Dinalupihan, Bataan, on January 9.

Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta, Pampanga police provincial director, said Ringo Serrano, 43, a resident of Barangay Luakan, was responsible for stealing cash from a client inside the BDO bank branch in Guagua, Pampanga.

Consulta said Rey Santos of Sta. Rita Pampanga was busy filling up a deposit slip inside BDO bank when he noticed that his P49,500 cash placed beside him was missing.

Serrano reportedly took the said cash without the victim noticing.

Recovered from the suspect were the cash amounting to P49,500 and two small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride).

The suspect is currently detained at the Guagua Police Station and appropriate charges were filed in court against him. (Ric Sapnu)
