Samsung opens 'experience store' in Davao City

SAMSUNG opens on Friday, December 1, another "experience store" at Gaisano Mall of Davao.

Maria Corina P. Labuguen, Samsung Experience Stores head for IT and mobile, told SunStar Davao that the experience store is a hub where buyers can experience Samsung products themselves.

"Before, we usually just put dummy products, now (in the experience stores) all are live units so they can experience it themselves," she said.

Samsung Experience Stores, according to its website, are the only place to find your full range of smartphones, tablets, laptops, wearables, genuine accessories, TVs and audio products, including Samsung exclusives you won't find anywhere else.

Labuguen added that experience stores are launched following a study stating that customers already have a brand and unit in their minds before going to stores.

"So when they go to the stores, all they want to do is to validate the product performance, so it is important that there are live units for them to try," she said.

At present, there are a total of 30 experience stores in Mindanao, around 15 are in Davao City. The G-Mall experience store is dealer-owned store.

"We will continue to expand, if a new mall opens, we will be there for as long as it is strategically located," she said.

She added that this direction is based from the study that the Philippines is considered as a mall-based market.

Asked what are the most-bought Samsung products by the Davao market, Labuguen said the J-series tops the list for the general public, while the Samsung S8 and Note 8 are favorites of the professional and working market.
