San Simon hires 243 SPES beneficiaries

SAN SIMON -- The Municipal Government of San Simon hired 243 students to benefit from the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) under the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole).

Students were assigned to different departments in the municipality and have started working since Monday.

Around P1.2-million allocated for the program wherein P750,000 will come from LGU and P500,000 from Dole under the Bottoms-Up Budgetting System.

Public Employment Service Officer Gellie Ann Dagdag said that the students will receive a salary of P250 per day.

Supan added the SPES beneficiaries will work for 20 days.

The beneficiries come from families whose income do not exceed P136,000 per year.

Supan also said that some indigent families also benefited from Tulong Panghanapbuhay Sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers (Tupad) program with an allocation budget of P893,440.

She added that some residents of the town also benefited from the automotive and processed foods training of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority this summer.
