Security guard killed in Baguio public market

A SECURITY guard of Baguio Market Plaza Multipurpose Cooperative (Bamapcom) was killed while on duty early Tuesday morning by still unidentified assailant.

The assailant stabbed the victim before he robbed the cooperative of still undetermined amount of cash.

Marylith Pagaduan, Board of Director of Bamapcom, identified the victim as Robert Oficiar, 25, a resident of Tubao, La Union, who worked as security guard in the building for more than four years.

"We will miss him since he stayed here for long years," Pagaduan said.

The police said one of the glass doors in the building was forcibly opened and the memory card of the security cameras were removed by the perpetrators.

Police are still investigating the incident.
