A COMPLAINT for frustrated murder was filed against one of the three suspects involved in a shooting incident that killed a baby boy and injured two others in Kabankalan City on June 2.

Superintendent Rhea Santos, city police chief, said Nilo Aranuis, 45, of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, was positively identified by Jenelyn Rojo, 43, mother of John Rey Blanco, one year and seven months, who was killed in the incident.

Blanco’s sister Jade Blanco, 19, was also injured but their father was unharmed.

Santos said Rojo identified Aranuis as one of the companions of the assailants who fired at their residence at Barangay Pinaguinpinan.

Aranuis is a relative of the victims and had stayed in their house for a week.

Aranuis was arrested last Friday while his two companions are still at-large.

Santos said murder and frustrated murder charges will be filed against the two other assailants this week.

Investigators are eyeing land dispute as the cause of the incident. (GYM)
