SHS-AdC top futsal

SACRED Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) snagged the 1st Talisay City Futsal Cup Girls Under-16 division after squeaking past rival St. Theresa’s School (STC) last Saturday at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

SHS-AdC beat the region’s best futsal team, STC, 2-1.

STC, representing Cebu City, won the Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association futsal tournament after a 5-3 penalty shootout over Mandaue City, represented by SHS-AdC. STC snagged silver in the Palarong Pambansa.

SHS-AdC’s Peeve Layague was named the Best Striker, while her teammate Katrina Rodriguez earned Best Goalkeeper honors.

Host Talisay Razkals, last year’s regional Batang Pinoy futsal champions, ended up as the second runner-up, while Warshockz FC finished as the third runner-up.

This tournament was organized by the Talisay Razkals to prepare the team for this year’s Batang Pinoy.
