Sinulog Idol’s Magic 12

Honey I. Cotejo - Arnold Y. Bustamante

LUCKY. Twelve millennials should consider themselves very lucky to have made it to the magic circle to next year’s Sinulog Idol singing competition. It’s a seven-night singing contest at the Fuente Osmeña circle, from Jan. 12 to 18, the aim of which is to find the next (actually the 8th) Sinulog Idol grand winner. Soundtraxx Production Studios big bosses Gani and Gloria Villarojo, singer Apple Abarquez and vocal coach Jay Unchuan were tasked to listen to several auditionees and pick the 12 lucky ones.

CONSTRUCTIVE. On the part of the 12, singing different genres for seven successive nights is not easy and light. They have to perform well because every night, the judges won’t hesitate to assail them for their lapses on stage. As emcee of this yearly spectacle, I’m highly recommending this seven-night event to the general public. You should not miss its high entertainment value. For free at that.

FINALISTS. The lucky 12 are Rey Ann Kate Ortouste, Claire Ann Yongco, Frianne Mackenzie Omega, Angelica Maranan, Justine Mae Mantua, Shenahia Postrero, Joey Atillo, Jaymar Ostria, Arnold Badana, Jeyve Daño, Aljay Camingao and Jhun Camille Ian Casiño. Best of luck, guys!

INDUCTION. The Sugboanong Musikero Inc. will have its first induction ceremony next Monday at the Grand Convention Center. Singing priest Fr. Jonas Mejares, OSA, will celebrate the Holy Mass an hour before the oath-taking rites. The event is by invitation only. (For reactions, text 0932-277-8771)
