SOS-Davao A, Buhangin win

THE SOS Children's Village of Davao Team A and Buhangin Falcons Rugby Club (BFRC) emerged champions in their respective divisions at the close of the Davao Summer Sports for Peace Festival Rugby Football Tournament held at the Davao City National High School (DCNHS) field over the weekend.

SOS-CV A defeated BFRC in the under 14 division, 1-0, to rule the Davao Durians Rugby Football Club-organized event. BFRC placed second while the Tugbok Stallions A subdued Foundation of Balay Pasilungan team Black, 1-0, in their battle for third.

Anthony Roquillo of SOS CV A and Irra Belle Villota of Tugbok Stallions A were named most valuable player (MVP) awards.

BFRC, meanwhile, beat SOS CV, 1-0, in their open division finals. SOS CV wounded up with the silver while Royal Valley Pirates came third. BFRC's Marlon Paulino and Prince Joven Sarona of Royal Valley Pirates shared the MVP honors.

The event was presented by the city government of Davao through the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office (SDD-CMO) and City Tourism Operations Office in cooperation with the Philippine Rugby Football Union, Pot Bellied Pigs RFC Hong Kong, Meerkat Security Services and DHL.
